Lab exclusivo! Edition of 600 copies on burning copper vinyl with printed inner. Original Lab review from 2018:
Ruby da Cherry and $crim are cousins from the 7th Ward of New Orleans, and they make up the prolific rap group $UICIDEBOY$. Commanding a huge, cult-like following in the underground and working with other influential figures of the scene like Pouya, Germ, & Denzel Curry, the duo has released a ton of music on SoundCloud. I Want To Die In New Orleans is their debut studio album (but 43rd project overall!), and $crim, under the alias Budd Dwyer, handles the production on the entire album (Juicy J, the group’s mentor & executive producer of the album, co-produced “Phantom Menace”), creating an ominous trap backdrop. Over heavy bass, rolling hi-hats, and left-field samples (news clips, PSAs, etc.) the BOY$ talk depression, drug use, suicidal ideation, and NOLA, and here’s the thing; despite the dark subject matter, the tracks bump, and fans will definitely be moshing to tracks like “122 Days,” “Carrollton,” “Krewe du Vieux (Comedy & Tragedy),” and “WAR TIME ALL THE TIME.”
