Rare caribbean soul on 45 courtesy of Numero Group, who else? The latest in their Eccentric Soul 45 series comes by way of Dry Bread (aka famed Bahamian guitarist Cyril Ferguson) and features two sides of funky island soul as only he could deliver. Heads will recognize “Words To My Song” as featured on the 2009 Numero compilation Cult Cargo: Bahama Goombay with its sweltering drum breaks and funky guitar swag, but “Ya Mar” is exclusive to this double A-side. Phish fans will recognize the track as it their cover version has been a live set staple since the 80’s, and is often mistaken as a Phish original as this Dry Bread version is exceedingly rare. No dis to Phish, but ain’t nothing like the real thing!
