Fourth studio album from Dayton circa 1983. Dayton was one of the many funk acts to emerge from Ohio during the 70’s/80’s (Ohio Players, Zapp, Slave, Faze O, Dazz Band, and Bootsy’s Rubber Band, to name a few) and by the time “Feel The Music” came out, they already had a couple hits to their name. Everyone knows the funk classic “Cutie Pie” from ’81, but the joint here is “The Sound Of Music.” The track is equally moving and uplifting with catchy melodies, fat drums, huge synths and lovely female vocals counter balanced by funked-out vocoders. This is a monster jam that is sure to put a smile on everyone on the dancefloor. Worth it for this one alone, but also check the grown n’ sexy boogie vibe on “Out Tonite,” or “Promise Me.” 9 tracks for the 80’s r&b and boogie lovers, full pic sleeve.
